Cooler weather forecast for the North next week

A high-pressure cover over upper Thailand is weakening, which has led to a 1-2 degrees Celsius rise in temperatures, the Thai Meteorological Department said.

The northeast monsoon across the Gulf and the South is weakening, reducing rains in the area. Moderate winds and waves 1- 2 metres high are expected, while waves above two metres high as well as thundershowers are forecast for the lower Gulf. The department has cautioned ships to proceed with caution and keep away from thundershowers.
From November 18-22, strong high-pressure areas will extend to the upper country, bringing cool to cold weather, lowering the temperature by 2-4 degrees Celsius in upper Thailand. The northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf and the South will strengthen, the department said.
More rains with isolated heavy rains are expected in the South. Moderate winds have been forecast with waves rising to about two metres and above 2 metres in areas with thundershowers, the department said.
