Most of Thailand to get 1-3 °C colder, rain in the South

The north and northeast region will see drops in temperature of 1-3 °C, with strong winds and clear skies as a strong high-pressure system continues to cover upper Thailand and the South China Sea, the Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Wednesday (December 4).

Meanwhile, the strong northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf causing high waves and heavy rain in the south. High winds in the upper Gulf from Chumphon northward will whip up waves 2-3 metres high and more than 4 metres high in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani southwards. The heavy rainfall is likely to cause some flash flooding and possible landslides.
