BMA to set up 19 checkpoints, urges public to wear yellow for historic Royal Barge Procession

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has invited people to wear yellow shirts, and announced 19 entrances with checkpoints for those who want to witness the historic Royal Barge Procession of the current monarch.

The Royal Barge Procession is scheduled for December 12. There will be 19 entrances manned by security guards to carry out identity checks. Those who want see history in the making need to prepare their ID cards and are requested to wear yellow shirts as His Majesty will be present on that day.

The 19 checkpoints are:

1. Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon 

2. At Rama VIII Bridge (Phra Nakhon side) 

3. Pipit Banglamphu Museum

4. Thammasat University entrance

5. Thokkathan-Mother Earth Squeezing Her Hair statue 

6. Sanam Luang 1 (Thammasat University side)

7. Sanam Luang 2 (the Supreme Court side) 

8. At Phra Pin Klao Bridge (Phra Nakhon side) 

9. Tha Maharaj Pier 

10. Tha Chang Pier 

11. Tha Tian Intersection 

12. In front of Saranrom Palace

13. At Rama VIII Bridge (Thonburi side) 

14. Somdejprapinklao Bridge 

15. Thonburi Railway Pier entrance

16. Sathan Pimuk Park, near Siriraj Hospital

17. Wanglang Pier 

18. In front of Wat Rakhang Khositaram Woramahawiharn temple 

19. In front of Wat Kanlayanamit Temple
