Free train trips on December 12

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) will offer a special free train ride on four routes – Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Chachoengsao and Mahachai – on December 12, acting SRT governor Voravuth Mala said.

“This campaign will facilitate people in Bangkok and its metropolitan areas on their journey to welcome His Majesty King Rama X and Her Majesty Queen Suthida, who will participate in the Royal Barge Procession, which is part of the Royal Coronation,” he said.
The free Ayutthaya-Bangkok train service will be from 9.30am to 11am, with the return journey to Ayutthaya being from 8.15pm to 9.50pm. The Nakhon Pathom-Thonburi service will commence at 9.55am to 10.50am and the return trip will be from 8pm to 9 pm. For the Chachoengsao-Bangkok service it is 9.20am to 10.45am and 8.05pm to 9.25pm, while the Mahachai-Wongwian Yai service will be from 9.35am to 10.30am and 8.10pm to 9pm.
“Passengers can request a free train ticket at the departure station or the stations the train passes by showing their identity card to the staff, or call 1690 for more information,” Voravuth added.
