Warmer weather returns though cool nights prevail
The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Friday (December 13) that the intense high-pressure over Thailand is weakening, resulting in an increase in temperatures of 1-3 degrees C.
The North and Northeast remain chilly with minimum temperatures ranging from 9-17 °C. In the Central region including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East, minimum temperatures will be between 16 and 22 degrees while the South remains windy with wave height of about 1 metre.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Cold to very cold with mist in the morning, lows of 9-16 degrees and highs of 26-31 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 2-8 degrees on hilltops, with frost in some areas.
Northeastern region: Cold with fog in the morning, lows 11-17 degrees and highs of 29-31 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 5-10 degrees on hilltops.
Central region: Cool with mist in the morning, lows of 16-20 degrees, highs 31-33 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Cool with mist in the morning; lows 18-22 degrees, highs 32-33 degree Celsius; wave height 1 metre.
Southern region (east coast): Cool weather with thunder showers in 10 per cent of the area; lows 19-23 degrees, highd 31-32 degrees Celsius; wave height 1-2 metres, increasing to 2 metres during storms.
Southern region (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thunder showers in 10 per cent of the area; lows 22-25 degrees, highs 32-34 degree Celsius; wave height 1 metre, increasing to 2 metres during storms.
Bangkok and surrounding area: Cool with mist the morning; lows of 20-22 degrees, highs 31-33 degrees Celsius.
