Upper Thailand gets warmer and foggy, South sees more rain

The weak high-pressure covering Thailand and the South China Sea will bring a 1-2 degree rise in temperature along with morning fog over upper Thailand, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Monday (December 16). The North and Northeast will see minimum temperatures ranging from 13-21 °C and fair sky.

The weak northeast monsoon prevails across the Gulf and easterly winds will bring thundershowers to the lower South.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Cold with fog in the morning, lows 13-18 degrees and highs of 28-35 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 3-12 degrees on hilltops.
Northeastern region: Cold with fog in the morning, lows 13-21 degrees and highs 32-35 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 8-15 degrees on hilltops.
Central region: Cool with fog in the morning; lows 19-21 degrees, highs 34-35 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Cool with fog in the morning; lows 21-25 degrees, highs 33-35 degree Celsius; wave height 1 metre.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thunder showers in 30 per cent of the area; lows 23-24 degrees, high 29-33 degrees Celsius; wave height 1-2 metres, increasing to 2 metres during storms.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thunder showers in 30 per cent of the area; lows 23-25 degrees, highs 30-33 degree Celsius; wave height 1 metre, increasing to 1-2 metres during storms.
Bangkok and surrounding area: Fog in the morning; lows 23-24 degrees, highs 33-35 degrees Celsius.
