Tech university to host agricultural fair
A national agricultural fair under the theme ‘Sustainable Thai agriculture innovation under the kings’ philosophy’ will be organised by the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), said Associate Professor Weerapong Paesuwan, chancellor of the university on Thursday (December 26).
Representatives from co-organisers SUT Institute of Agricultural Technology, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives’ Office of the Permanent Secretary, and Nakhon Ratchasima Agricultural Extension Office were also present at the announcement.
The fair, scheduled for January 10 to 19, is held in honour of the royal members of the House of Chakri and aims to disseminates their expertise and activities in agriculture.
The event will also highlight the potential of Thai farmers and exhibit SUT's researches and innovations in the industry.
There will be agricultural exhibitions, contests of plants and pets, and booths selling farm produce and the university’s products.
Alao, the fair will come with briefing and training on the production of qualified marijuana for medical and business use, total mixed ration (TMR) for goats and cows, and smart greenhouse.
“SUT will mark its 30th anniversary in 2020” the chancellor said, adding: “This event will be the pride of the university as well as Nakhon Ratchasima”.
