Cabinet okays free dental implants for low-income earners

The Cabinet has approved a scheme to provide 4,000 free dental implants to low-income earners.

The scheme was proposed by Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, government deputy spokeswoman Ratchada Thanadirek said on Tuesday (January 2).
“The normal price of dental implant service is around Bt50,000-Bt100,000 per tooth. As a result many low-income earners are unable to afford the service,” she said.
Interested people must register with the Thailand Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences (Public Organisation) via the website http://www.tcels.or.th, she said. “The dental implant service will be provided at 36 hospitals nationwide,” she added. “The centre also will hand out 10,000 coupons to diabetic patients for free treatment of chronic wounds at 14 hospitals nationwide through registration at the same website. Both programmes will start on January 6 and end on February 2020.”
