Dust particle level ‘moderate to mildly threatening’

The level of PM2.5 dust particles in Bangkok averaged 35-67 micrograms per cubic metre today (January 7), which is between moderate and mildly threatening, the Air Quality and Noise Management Bureau reported.

This is slightly above the safety standard in some districts of Bangkok, such as Thonburi, Bang Khun Thian, Bang Na and Din Daeng, and the Metropolitan Region such as Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon.
According to the Air Quality Index, the quality of air in Bangkok is harmful to health and at 09.29am the city was ranked the sixth most-polluted.
