Huawei Thailand puts tight measures in place to prevent staff infection

In an effort to avoid the spread of the novel coronavirus, Huawei Technologies Thailand has put protective measures in place to ensure the health and safety of its staff and that of all businesses and communities where the company operates.

In accordance with instructions by the Thai Ministry of Public Health, and in line with recommendations from Chinese authorities and Huawei's Epidemic Prevention and Control Emergency Response Team, Huawei Thailand has imposed a series of preventive measures to help its employees contain the virus.
Key measures implemented by Huawei Thailand include postponement or suspension of unnecessary business travel to China as well as simple actions and gestures such as checking temperature and washing hands with sanitised gel before entering the Huawei office and canteens, distribution of hygienic masks plus wearing masks at all times.
All Chinese employees who recently returned to Thailand are currently being quarantined in their own homes for 14 days to ensure they are not unknowing carriers. These precautionary measures apply to all Huawei employees, including those working outside the main office, and to all visitors entering Huawei Thailand office.
In addition to these measures imposed on its staff and visitors, Huawei Thailand also carries out staff training on the novel coronavirus and precautionary measures against it by a medical team from Phyathai 2 Hospital, daily environmental sterilisation, such as disinfecting the office’s floor, furniture, door handles, elevators and frequently-touched surfaces to ensure that employees work in a clean and safe environment at all times.
Every three days, Huawei Thailand disinfects the air in office areas, canteens and even company vehicles. Used masks must be disposed of in special bins. The company has instructed its employees, who provide service and maintenance to clients outside the office, to follow the same rules.
This contingency plan follows the preventive and control measures established in China by Huawei’s Epidemic Prevention and Control Emergency Response Team. Through Huawei’s Business Continuity Management System, the telecom company has prepared comprehensive policies and materials designed to manage the threat of an epidemic.
As of today, no confirmed or suspected cases of the coronavirus have been found in any of the Huawei companies outside China, including representative offices, research centres and shared services centres.
