Muffled enthusiasm

Foreign tourists pay their respects at the Erawan Shrine and shopping in the Ratchaprasong area on Sunday (February 2) wearing masks to protect themselves from the new coronavirus. The number of tourists has seen a huge fall as a result of measures by China prohibiting tour companies from taking people out of the country. Most of the remaining tourists travel in small groups or are those who have stayed behind after China closed entries and exits to many of its cities.
