Two Thai evacuees from Wuhan under watch for new coronavirus

Dr Suthep Phetmak, Public Health Inspector of Region 6, on Saturday (February 8) briefed the press on the condition of Thais who were brought back from Wuhan city of China's Hubei province, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.
“Out of 138 persons, four were previously separated and put on a special monitor list as they displayed symptoms such as coughing and diarrhoea since Thursday,” he said. “The four patients have now fully recovered and will soon leave the hospital building and move to quarantine facilities of Royal Thai Navy.”
“However, of the 134 persons in quarantine who we had previously ruled as healthy, one showed symptoms of slight fever and coughing last night (February 7),” he added. “We rushed him to the hospital for examination along with his roommate, who has yet to show any symptoms but was examined anyway for precaution. Both were put on the caution list and will stay at the hospital until they are cleared.”
Suthep added that the rest of evacuees are in good health and spirits, as yesterday their phones were returned and they were allowed to call their families. “Medical staff are monitoring their condition closely 24/7 until the 14-day quarantine period ends on February 19,” he added.
The evacuees arrived in Thailand at U-Tapao International Airport in Rayong province on Tuesday (February 4).
