Singapore bank offices emptied after virus detected among staff

Some 300 employees of Singapore’s DBS Bank were evacuated from their offices on the 34th floor of the Marina Bay Financial Centre on Wednesday (February 12) after one of their colleagues was confirmed as infected with the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The staff had been tested on Tuesday.
Singapore’s Health Ministry boosted the public Covid-19 virus alert to “orange” on February 7, matching the warning issued during the 2003 SARS epidemic.
Orange signifies the virus is virulent and can easily transmitted from person to person.
