The cruise ship Quantum of the Seas rolled into port at Patong in Phuket on Thursday (February 13), but was set to depart again by 10pm.

The Royal Caribbean International vessel was at her time of delivery in 2014 the third-largest cruise ship in the world by gross tonnage. It’s been sailing Asian waters since 2015.

Among the 3,100 people aboard including crew, most of the passengers are European, Indian, Japanese and South Korean.

A temporary health centre was established to screen all on board for signs of the coronavirus that has gutted Thai tourism, but none were found.

Another cruise ship, the Celebrity Constellation, owned by Miami-based Celebrity Cruises, has postponed plans to dock in Phuket on Friday.
