Slight increase in SET index, thanks to rising ICT stocks

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed at 1,527.25 points today (February 17), an increase of 0.95 points and 0.06 per cent over Friday’s close.

The daily trade volume was Bt52.49 billion, with an index high of 1,532.87 and a low of 1,523.74.
Krungsri Securities predicted the SET Index on Monday would range between 1,520 and 1,540 points, adding that ICT stocks were expected to benefit from the 5G spectrum licence auction, led by Advanced Info Service (Advanc), which rose by 10 points or 4.90 per cent to 214.00.
The top ten stocks with the highest trade value today were BAM, Advanc, GPSC, AOT, INTUCH, KCE, CPAll, PTT, Sawad, and Gulf.
Elsewhere in Asia, Japan’s Nikkei index closed at 23,523.24, down 164.35 points, or 0.69 per cent.
China’s Shanghai SE Composite Index ended the day at 2,983.62, up 66.61 points, or 2.28 per cent, while the Shenzhen SE Component Index closed at 11,241.50, up 325.19 points, or 2.98 per cent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng ended at 27,959.60, up 144.00 points, or 0.52 per cent.
South Korea’s Kospi closed at 2,242.17, down 1.42 points, or 0.063 per cent.
Taiwan’s TaiEx index ended at 11,763.51, down 52.19 points, or 0.44 per cent.
