SET dips below 1,500 amid virus, economic concerns 

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed at 1,491.24 today (February20), down 14.30 points (0.95 per cent) from the previous day, with a trade volume of Bt75.54 billion.

The SET index moved between 1,484.51 and 1,504.95 in the day's trading. 
Analysts at KTB Securities said the market was adversely impacted by concerns over the coronavirus outbreak, and slower economic growth. Political uncertainty was also a factor with investors waiting for the Constitutional Court's verdict tomorrow on the dissolution case against Future Forward Party (FWP), which has the third highest number of seats in the House of Representatives.
Meanwhile, the stock of Central Retail Corp (CRC) which made its debut on the SET today, closed at Bt41.75, Bt0.25 or 0.60 per cent lower than the initial public offering price of Bt42.
The top ten stocks with the highest trade values today were AOT, CRC, SCB, BAM, CPALL, PTT, KBANK, GPSC, ADVANC, and GULF.
Elsewhere in Asia, China’s Shanghai SE Composite index closed at 3,030.15, up 54.75 points, or 1.84 per cent, while Shenzhen SE Component index closed at 11,509.09, up 273.49 points, or 2.43 per cent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index closed at 27,609.16, down 46.65 points, or 0.17 per cent.
South Korea’s KOSPI index closed at 2,195.50, down 14.84 points, or 0.67 per cent.
Taiwan’s TAIEX index closed at 11,725.09, down 33.75
