Cool and foggy mornings forecast for upper Thailand, rains ease in the South

The weakening high-pressure system over upper Thailand and the South China Sea will bring cool mornings and light fog to the North, the Northeast and the Central regions, the Thai Meteorological Department forecast on Tuesday (February 25).

All transport should proceed with caution in foggy areas. Meanwhile, weakening easterly winds across the Gulf will result in lesser rains and thundershowers in the South.
The easterly winds blowing across the Central region are expected to aggravate the dust/smog situation, especially in the North where the smog in the morning is expected to be thick due to bad ascension of the air-parcel.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Cool weather in the morning, temperature lows of 16-20 degrees and highs of 32-36 degrees Celsius, likely to drop to 6-14 degrees on hilltops.
Northeastern region: Cool weather and light fog in the morning; temperatures lows of 16-21 degrees and highs of 33-34 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 10-16 degrees Celsius on hilltops.
Central region: Cool weather and light fog in the morning; temperature lows of 22-25 degrees, highs of 35-36 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Partly cloudy with light fog in the morning; lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 31-34 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high.
