Cool weather and morning fog forecast for upper Thailand

The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Wednesday (February 26) that a weakening high-pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea while the weakening easterly winds move across the Gulf.

Cool weather with morning fog is forecast for the North, the Northeast and the Central regions. In the South, in the lower Gulf of Thailand from Nakhon Si Thammarat southwards, waves 1-2 metres high are forecast.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

Northern region: Cool weather and fog in the morning, temperature lows of 17-21 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius. Temperature is likely to drop to 7-14 degrees Celsius on hilltops.

Northeastern region: Cool weather and light fog in the morning; temperature lows of 18-21 degrees, highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 10-16 degrees Celsius on hilltops.

Central region: Partly cloudy with fog in the morning; temperature lows of 22-24 degrees and highs of 35-38 degrees Celsius.

Eastern region: Partly cloudy with fog in the morning and isolated rains; temperature lows of 22-25 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.

Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 21-25 degrees, highs of 31-34 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high.

Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Partly cloudy with fog in the morning; temperature lows of 24-25 degrees, highs of 35-37 degrees Celsius.
