SET index falls below 1,400 as fear of Covid -19 grows 

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) closed at 1,366.41 today (February 26), down 72.69 points (5.05 per cent) from Tuesday’s close with a high of 1,428.35 and a low of 1,366.41 

Total value of the day's transactions amounted to Bt93.189 billion.
Krungsri Securities expected a drop in the SET Index today due to worldwide concerns of the growing impact from Covid-19 on the global economy and oil prices.
The World Health Organisation issued a warning last week to countries where the virus had taken hold to implement additional measures. 
Top ten stocks with the highest trade values today were AOT, CRC, KBANK, PTT, BAM, BBL, SCB, ADVANC, CPALL, and GULF.
Elsewhere in Asia, Japan’s Nikkei index closed at 22,426.19, down 179.22 points, or 0.79 per cent.
China’s Shanghai SE Composite index closed at 2,987.93, down 25.12 points, or 0.83 per cent, while Shenzhen SE Component index closed at 11,497.55, down 358.53 points, or 3.02 per cent.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index closed at 26,696.49, down 196.74 points, or 0.73 per cent.
South Korea’s KOSPI index closed at 2,076.77, down 26.84 points, or 1.28 per cent.
Taiwan’s TAIEX index closed at 11,433.62, down 106.61 points, or 0.92 per cent.
