Cool mornings with fog and light rains forecast for upper Thailand
The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Friday (February 28) that a weakening high-pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea while southeasterly winds prevails over the Central and the East.
Cool mornings with fog continue in the North and the Northeast while increasing temperatures during the day are forecast in the upper country. Light rains are forecast for the Central, the East and the South due to the weakening easterly winds blowing across the Gulf. All transport should proceed with caution in foggy areas.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Cool weather and fog in the morning; temperature lows of 16-21 degrees and highs of 32-37 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 5-14 degrees on hilltops.
Northeastern region: Cool weather and fog in the morning; temperatures lows 16-22 degrees and highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius. Temperature likely to drop to 10-15 degrees on hilltops.
Central region: Partly cloudy with fog in the morning and isolated rains; temperature lows of 22-25 degrees, highs of 35-37 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Partly cloudy with fog in the morning and isolated rains; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 31-35 degree Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rains; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 31-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with light rains in some areas; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 33-36 degree Celsius; waves a metre high.
Bangkok and surrounding area: Partly cloudy with fog in the morning and isolated rains; lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius.
