Hot spell continues for upper Thailand, isolated showers in South
More hot weather is forecast for upper Thailand as the high-pressure system from China that covers the South China Sea is weakening, the Thailand Meteorological Department has forecast.
The southerly and southeasterly winds will bring humidity from the South China Sea. Thundershowers are likely in some parts of the lower North, the Northeast, the Central and the East regions, the department forecast, while the weak easterly winds prevailing across the South and the Gulf bring isolated thundershowers in the South.
Meanwhile stronger winds prevailing across Bangkok and its vicinity bring isolated rains and reduce dust/smog. In the lower North, dust in the air is aggravated by the ascension of an air-parcel.
The forecast for Bangkok metropolis and its vicinity: Hot day with isolated light rains. Minimum temperature of 26-27 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperature 33-37 °C. Southerly winds 10-30 km/hr.
