Hot day forecast for upper Thailand
The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Monday (March 9) that a heat low covers upper Thailand where the southerly and southeasterly winds blow over.
Hot weather will cover the area with some parts of the North, the Northeast and the Central regions becoming very hot. Outbreaks of isolated thundershowers are forecast for the East while the weak easterly winds across the Gulf bring thundershowers in some parts of the South.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Partly cloudy with hot weather during the day; temperature lows of 17-24 degrees and highs of 36-40 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Partly cloudy with hot weather during the day and very hot in some areas; temperature lows of 19-26 degrees and highs of 36-40 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Partly cloudy with hot weather during the day and very hot in some areas; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 37-40 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 32-38 degree Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 22-26 degrees, highs of 32-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-27 degrees, highs of 34-37 degree Celsius; waves a metre high.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot weather during the day; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 34-39 degrees Celsius.
