B Care: Staff working with virus patient not infected

B Care Medical Centre announced today (March 10) that 30 of its staff working with a Covid-19 patient last month have not been infected, after 14 days of quarantine from February 25 to March 9.

“The polymerase chain reaction test for Covid-19 confirmed that the virus was not found in any of the staff’s bodies,” the medical centre said.
On February 23, an infected man was admitted to B Care due to pneumonia, high fever and cough. He denied visiting a high-risk country. However, a lab test the next day showed he was infected by the virus, and he later confessed to travelling to Japan.
This led to fears that the 30 could also be infected with the virus, and they were ordered into quarantine at a facility provided by the Air Force. They were required to inform B Care and the Institute for Urban Disease Control and Prevention officials about their condition each day until they were cleared.
