Careful of strangers with virus sprays

Careful of strangers with virus sprays

The man who sprayed “alcohol” on people near the Victory Monument in Bangkok on Wednesday evening (March 11) was not a disease control officer employed by the Ratchathewi district office.

He was in fact a “volunteer” and has been told to cease and desist and been placed under investigation, district chief Rujira Arin said on Thursday.

The man reportedly offered to spray pedestrians for free for five straight days before being stopped.

Asked what chemicals were in the liquid he was spraying, he couldn’t say, but claimed the fluid “helped prevent Sars and bird flu”.
