Restaurant in mall clarifies on rumours of being visited by Covid-19 patients

Chongjaroen, a restaurant in CentralWorld department store in Bangkok, said on Facebook on Wednesday (March 11) that it was looking into rumours the restaurant had been visited by Covid-19 patients.

Chongjaroen said the restaurant has run prevention measures for a period, including checking the temperature of both staff and customers, and sanitising with alcohol.
“Presently, over 50 per cent of customers are those who book their tables, whose contact details we know,” Chongjaroen said. “We now aim to record 100 per cent of customers’ information as a way to deal with rumours”.
Meanwhile, Central Pattana, the operator of CentralWorld, said on Wednesday that it would investigate the rumour.
The operator closed the zone where the restaurant is located and added that it had ordered staff to clean several zones of the department store, including an office building and parking lot.
