Oil stains, dead humpback dolphin found on Nakhon Si Thammarat beaches

Thick oil stains and dead marine animals were found on beaches in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Theerapong Chuaichoo, Khanom district chief, said on Thursday (March 12).

Crude oil stains covered nearly a one-kilometre stretch of the Had Khanom shore at around midnight on March 11. Local organisations went to investigate it while residents gathered to clean the beach.

Somchai Chalardchaleam, president of marine conservation association in Nakhon Si Thammarat province, said that the province’s beaches had recently encountered several oil stains.
