The chief of the Defence Forces, General Pornpipat Benyasri, has issued an order banning overseas travel of military personnel in order to avoid risky destinations during the Covid-19 pandemic, Colonel Chatrapi Poonsri, deputy spokesperson of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, said on Sunday (March 15).

They are also not allowed to attend parties or large gatherings of people. If they have to participate in social events, they must strictly follow the guidelines set by the Public Health Ministry and they have to report to their supervisors.

The measures are imposed to ensure the virus will not be transmitted among the Armed Forces or their families, she said.
