Work-at-home trend becoming more popular amid Covid-19 crisis

Various business organisations are allowing their staff to work at home in a bid to tackle the Covid-19 spread by using online tools from leading service providers and social media platforms such as Cisco Systems, Huawei, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Nutanix, IBM, and Line.

Some providers are even offering to help business organisations use online solutions for free for a while during the crisis.
Microsoft, one of the largest technology companies that offers digital solutions, will organise an online virtual press conference in the form of a video clip connecting the United States and Thailand on March 17.
Microsoft 365 corporate vice president Jared Spataro said the conference will reveal new features for Microsoft Teams, an application in the Office 365 program.

Buddhipongse Punnakanta, Digital Economy and Society Minister
Meanwhile, the Digital Economy and Society Ministry, led by Minister Buddhipongse Punnakanta, had discussions last week with six Internet service providers and three software vendors to enable people to access the Internet and use current software as tools in their homes in an attempt to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infections.
The Internet service providers were CAT Telecom, TOT, Advanced Info Service, Total Access Communication (dtac), True Corporation, and Triple T Internet (3BB), while the software vendors comprised Microsoft, Cisco Systems and Google. The selected tools include Microsoft Teams, WebEx Teams, and Hangouts.
“We expect that Internet service providers will support Web services, while software vendors will provide collaboration tools for government authorities without charges for six months to allow officers to cooperate, edit and save documents and hold meetings anytime,” Buddhipongse said.
