A British man in Hua Hin has tested positive for Covid-19 following his Thai wife, Prachuap Khiri Khan governor Phallop Singhaseni said on Monday (March 23).

It was the seventh case of Covid-19 infection in the province.
“The latest patient is a British man who is married to the sixth patient, a Thai woman, in Hua Hin district who had just got back from the UK on March 15,” he said. “Among these seven, the third patient is also a British national. He is being treated at Bangkok-Hua Hin Hospital and his condition is gradually improving.”

Phallop added that two Hua Hin locals who had tested positive for Covid-19 earlier on March 21 had just travelled back from Poipet, Cambodia. “These two -- patients number 4 and 5 -- are being treated at Hua Hin Hospital,” said Phallop. “We investigated their travel history and found that they had passed through Nakhon Ratchasima, Sa Kaeo, Bangkok and then Hua Hin on public transport.”
The governor added that a Phetchaburi man shared the same van as patients No 4-5 travelling from Bangkok to Hua Hin. The man tested positive for Covid-19 and has become the first case in Phetchaburi province.

“The Prachuap Khiri Khan Public Health Office has ordered the company that operates the van to bring all their vehicles in for disinfecting, and help track down all passengers who shared the same van with patients No 4-5 for check-up,” he added.
