Hot day in most parts of Thailand, thundershowers in Northeast

The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Thursday (March 26) that a thermal low covers upper Thailand while the southerly and the southeasterly winds prevail over the Northeast and the East regions.

Hot conditions still prevail in most of upper Thailand while very hot conditions are forecast for some parts of the North and the Central regions. Thundershowers are possible in the Northeast and the East. People should beware of severe weather by keeping off unsecured buildings and outdoor places. Farmers have been advised to beware of damage to crop.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot to very hot; temperature lows of 18-25 degrees and highs of 37-41 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Hot with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 21-25 degrees and highs of 30-38 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot to very hot during the day; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 37-41 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Hot with thundershowers and gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 33-38 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 34-35 degree Celsius; waves a metre high and more than a metre offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot during the day; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees, highs of 33-39 degrees Celsius.
