Co-passengers being monitored for Covid-19 after three students test positive

Three students travelling in a public van from Bangkok to Chaiyaphum province earlier this week tested positive for Covid-19, Dr Samit Prasannakorn, public health officer of Sakon Nakhon province, said on Thursday (March 26).

“The three were heading back home in Chaiyaphum and Khon Kaen after internship in Bangkok,” he said. “They had a fever and went to hospitals to get tested on March 25. They tested positive for Covid-19.”
Samit added that there were six other passengers and the driver of the van all of whom are from Sakon Nakhon.
“Sakon Nakhon Public Health Office reached out to these people and asked them to come in for a test,” said Samit. “Five persons tested negative for Covid-19 but were ordered self-quarantine at home for 14 days, while two persons were admitted to Waritchaphum Hospital to monitor the symptoms.”
