Hot day in upper Thailand, thundershowers in Northeast and East
The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Monday (March 30) that a thermal low covers upper Thailand while the southerly and southeasterly winds prevail over the Northeast and the East regions.
Hot condition still rules in overall upper Thailand while very hot condition is forecast for some part in the North, the Northeast and the Central regions. Outbreaks of thundershowers are possible for the lower Northeast and the East.
During April 1-4, outbreaks of thunderstorm, strike of lightning with gusty winds are forecast for upper Thailand with hails in some area of the Northeast and the East. People in upper Thailand should keep off trees, unsecured buildings and billboards. Farmers should beware of crop damage.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot to very hot; temperature lows of 20-27 degrees and highs of 39-42 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 22-27 degrees and highs of 39-40 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot to very hot; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 38-41 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Hot with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees, highs of 34-38 degrees Celsius; waves a meter high.
Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius; waves a meter high.
Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-28 degrees, highs of 34-38 degree Celsius; waves a meter high and more than a meter offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot during the day; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees, highs of 35-39 degrees Celsius.
