Orders for Thai products from China rebound in March

China's orders for Thai export products, especially food and agricultural items, are growing as the country witnesses a continuous decline in Covid-19 infections in recent days , said Visit Limlurcha, vice president of the Thai National Shippers' Council.

However, transportation and logistic services in the country have yet to fully return to normal, he added .
“We cannot forecast export growth in March until we have received the report on total shipments for the month. February’s export contracted by 2 per cent, but in the first two months, total export grew 1.4 per cent”.
The Trade Policy and Strategy Office’s director general, Pimchanok Vonkorpon said that Thai exports to China would expand in the second quarter, led by agricultural produce such as rice, vegetable, fruits, cassava, rubber, frozen and processed chickens and fish, and drinks.
In addition, she added that both food and medical supplies would be much-needed in European countries, where the Covid-19 pandemic was escalating.
