Songkhla prepares for return of Thais from Malaysia across border

Songkhla Governor Charuwat Kliangklao visited the Sadao border checkpoint, in order to check its readiness for facilitating the return of Thais from Malaysia, under the emergency decree specification.

The returnees must have documents of the Royal Thai Embassy at Kuala Lumpur, or of the Royal Thai Consulate-General at Kota Bharu and Penang cities. They also must have a medical certificate, assuring their health status for travelling.

On Tuesday (March 31), some 2,000 to 3,000 Thais are expected to return from Malaysia, crossing the four border checkpoints, namely Su-ngai Kolok in Narathiwat province, Tammalang Port and Wang Prachan in Satun province and Sadao in Songkhla province.

The Sadao border checkpoint on Monday (March 30) was silent. There were only transportation trucks entering and leaving the province, while a few Malaysians returned to their country.
