DON’T lie, spread false info about Covid-19 situation, infections tomorrow, April Fool's Day

The Office of the Attorney General deputy spokesman Kosonlavat Intujunyong warned that those lying or spreading false information about Covid-19 infections on April Fool’s Day tomorrow (April 1) amid the emergency decree will face strict punishment.

In many countries, people play jokes or spread fake news on April 1. Some publishers even print false reports to poke fun at readers or give them a laugh the following day.
This year, however, the joke might be on you – and it could be a harsh one at that.
Sharing false information or lying about the Covid-19 situation or infections can land you in prison for up to two years or you can be fined up to Bt40,000.
