Myanmar’s Public Health and Sports Ministry confirmed the first Covid-19 death.

A statement said the deceased was a 69-year-old Myanmar man who had nasal cancer. He travelled from Australia to Myanmar on March 14 after staying in Australia for a month and in Singapore for four days.

He died this morning while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Waibargi Specialist Hospital, where Covid-19 patients are being treated.
