Hot day and thundershowers forecast in upper Thailand
The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Thursday (April 2) that a thermal low covers upper Thailand while the high-pressure system from China covers Laos and the South China Sea where the southerly and southeasterly winds prevails across the Northeast and the East.
Outbreaks of thunderstorms will be likely over upper Thailand, accompanying with thunderstorms, lightning strikes and gusty winds and hail. People should stay safe by keeping off big trees, outdoor places and unsecured buildings. Farmers should prevent for crop damage.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers and gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 20-28 degrees and highs of 39-43 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas, gusty winds and hails are possible; temperature lows of 23-28 degrees and highs of 37-41 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers and gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees, highs of 37-42 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Hot with thundershowers and gusty winds in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves a meter high.
Southern region (east coast): Hot with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-28 degrees, highs of 33-38 degrees Celsius; waves a meter high.
Southern region (west coast): Hot with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees, highs of 35-39 degree Celsius; waves a meter high and more than a meter offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot during the day with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 27-28 degrees, highs of 33-39 degrees Celsius.
