Mahasarakham orders shops closed at night

The Northeast province of Mahasarakham on Thursday (April 2) tightened restrictions aimed at halting the spread of deadly Covid-19 virus. The clampdown came a day after Governor Kiatisak Chanthra ordered at-risk businesses and venues to close during nighttime hours until April 20 (8am).

All shops except pharmacies and petrol stations were ordered to shut their doors from 10pm to 5am. Markets are allowed to open at 3am.
Retail and convenience stores were instructed to have customers stand at least 1 metre apart at cashier counters. They must also provide alcohol-based sanitisers at the doors, and must not service any customer who is not wearing a face mask.
Other places ordered to close were libraries, amulet markets, stadiums, sports fields and venues for holding meetings or parties.
Activities prohibited until April 20 are playing or practising sport in public areas, and gatherings of more than two participants. Sale of alcohol is permitted between the hours of 11am to 2pm only.
