Family Mart stores have limited customers to 10 at a time as part of social distancing measures to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection.

The convenience store chain has also increased time spent on cleaning to one hour, from 3am to 4am, for branches open 24 hours.

In addition, cashiers are now using small trays to receive cash from customers, who are also being asked to show their member codes via their phones, rather than pressing the number pads at the counters.

Meanwhile the stores are asking customers to allow at-risk shoppers such as the elderly, disabled, and pregnant women to pay for their shopping first.

All customers are also being asked to wear face masks and cleanse their hands with the alcohol-based sanitisers provided in each branch.

Staff are required to wear face masks during their working hours, while cashiers must also wear face shields to protect themselves from infection by airborne droplets.
