France organises special flight for stranded nationals

France is organising special flights for French nationals who have been stranded in Thailand after most international flights were cancelled in moves to tackle the Covid-19 crisis.

The French embassy called on stranded nationals to register online, before inviting them to confirm their names and their family's names in person at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Friday (April 3).
Two special Qatar Airways flights, Bangkok-Doha-Paris, were chartered for the job.
One flight was scheduled to depart Bangkok at 9.30pm on Friday and another was to leave on Saturday (April 4). Both flights can accommodate up to 517 passengers each.
The registration process was overseen by the French ambassador and 11 other embassy officials.
