Standing reminder for people of Krabi

It was a surprise for Krabi people driving down Maharaja Road when they saw four big, ancient statues of human beings stand majestically at the traffic lights, wearing a face mask, a headband and an armband with the national tricolour.

According to Keeratisak Pukhaoluan, the governor of Krabi, officials decided to use the statues to promote the habit of wearing mask amid the Covid-19 outbreak; they also promoted Thai tradition by dressimg them up in traditional attire or Muay Thai equipment of the past.

In addition to using the statues to drive home the message to the people, there are also posters saying: "stay home, stop virus, save the nation" on the poles nearby.

A total of 12 cases have been confirmed in Krabi with three recovered.
