Deadline for contributions to social security extended by three months

The Ministry of Labour has extended the deadline for contribution to the Social Security Fund for both employers and employees.

The Royal Gazette website on Saturday (April 11) posted an announcement signed by Labour Minister Chatu Mongkol Sonakul that the deadline for contribution to the Social Security Fund for both employers and employees for March, April and May shall be extended for three months. The deadlines for March, April and May contributions therefore were moved to July 15, August 15 and September 15 respectively.
“This move aims to help both business operators and employees during the Covid-19 situation, which has affected several businesses in Thailand,” said the announcement.
The Social Security Office had previously announced a reduction in social security contribution for both employers and employees during the Covid-19 situation for six months, starting from March until August. Employers’ contribution was reduced from 5 to 4 per cent of wages, while employees' contribution was reduced from 5 to 1 per cent of wages.
