Summer storm at your door
The Meteorological Department announced today (April 21) that a summer storm will hit upper Thailand from April 22-25.
A strong high-pressure area from China will first affect the northeast, while the hot weather will cause a collision of cold and hot air mass, resulting in a summer storm with strong wind gusts, lightning and hail in some areas.
The storm will also hit the eastern, central and northern regions.
People in upper Thailand should beware of damage, especially in agricultural zones, the department warned.
In all, 54 provinces will experience a summer storm.
On April 22, northeastern region: Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani provinces.
Between April 23-24, northern region: Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeastern region: Loei, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani.
Central region: Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Bangkok and its vicinity.
Eastern region: Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
On April 25, northern region: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit and Phetchabun.
Northeastern region: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
Central region: Suphan Buri, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Nakhon Sawan, Lopburi, Saraburi, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Bangkok and vicinity.
Eastern region: Nakhon Nayok Province, Prachinburi, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
