The Army’s Phramongkutklao Hospital has joined hands with King Monkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and Saijo Denki International to turn an old emergency ward in the hospital’s Prapasri Kamlang-ek building into a special ward for Covid-19 patients.

This negative-pressure ward will feature technology that creates 100-per-cent fresh air for the safety of medical personnel and controls the temperature and humidity in line with the World Health Organisation and Centres for Disease Control and Prevention standards.

Every bed in the ward will also be equipped with a high-tech pollution control system, ensuring patients breathe disinfected air.

Though Phramongkutklao Hospital already has enough beds to accommodate Covid-19 patients, it has decided to renovate its old emergency ward in case the number of patients spikes.
