Special masks created for reading lips
The Social Development and Human Security Ministry introduced face masks especially created for people with impaired hearing on Tuesday (April 21).
Patcharee Arayakul, the ministry’s deputy permanent secretary, presented the masks at a press conference, explaining that the mouth area was covered in the transparent film so the hearing impaired can read lips when communicating.
She added that face masks are necessary for protection during this crisis and the ministry wanted to create one especially for people who rely on lip-reading.
