Hot weather, storms forecast for upper Thailand, more thundershowers in South

A rather strong high-pressure system covers the Northeast, the East, the Central, the lower North and the South China Sea while hot to very hot conditions are likely in upper Thailand.

The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast summer storms with thunderstorms, lighting, gusty winds and hail for some areas, especially in the North. People should stay safe from the severe weather conditions by keeping off outdoor places, large trees and unsecured buildings while farmers should beware of damage to crops, the department said. 
The strong easterly winds blowing over the Gulf and the South bring rains with isolated heavy showers and gusty winds forecast for the areas.
Waves 1-2 metres high are forecast in the lower Gulf from Surat Thani southwards and about two metres high in the thundershower areas.
Bangkok metropolis and its vicinity could see isolated thunderstorms with gusty winds with minimum temperature of 26-27 °C and maximum 32-36 °C. Southeasterly winds will blow at10-30 km/hr.

Seven-day forecast 
On April 25-26, a rather strong high pressure area from China covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea while hot to very hot weather prevails in upper Thailand. Thunderstorms with gusty winds and hail will be likely in the upper country. During April 27 to May 1, a heat low cell covers the upper country bringing hot conditions to the areas. The southerly and southeasterly winds prevail over the lower North, the Northeast, the Central and the East with isolated thundershowers in the areas. Strong easterly winds prevail over the South and the Gulf from April 25-28. More rains with isolated heavy showers are forecast for the South. Waves in the lower South region are likely to be 1-2 metres high and about 2 metres high in thundershower areas. 
Cautions
On April 25-26, people in upper Thailand should keep off trees, unsecured buildings and billboards. Farmers should beware of crop damage. From April 25-28, people in the South of Thailand should beware of increasing thundershowers with gusty winds. Ships should proceed with caution, the department said.
