King Power bags two DFNI-Frontier awards

King Power has won two DFNI-Frontier Asia Pacific Awards – Asia Pacific Airport Travel Retailer of the Year and CSR or Sustainability Initiative of the Year – the company announced.

DFNI-Frontier is a leading travel-retail industry news magazine with a 33-year heritage. Its awards recognise excellence in the travel-retail and duty-free sectors across Asia, the Pacific and the Middle East. The judging panel comprises “high-profile, highly respected” personalities drawn from across the industry.
Talking about the Asia Pacific Airport Travel Retailer of the Year Award, the magazine said King Power welcomed travellers to Thailand as a tourist paradise. “Leading technologies such as interactive marketing and augmented and virtual reality create memorable experiences, supported in-store by a dedicated in-house training department,” it added.
The candidates for this award included South Korea’s Shilla Duty Free store as well as India’s Delhi Duty Free and Hyderabad Duty Free outlets.
The candidates for the CSR or Sustainability Initiative of the Year trophy included UAE’s Dubai Duty Free, South Korea’s Lotte Duty Free, Taiwan’s Ever Rich Duty Free, Indonesia’s Wild Tiger’s Roar Trip and Delhi Duty Free.
King Power bagged the award for donating via its Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Foundation Bt40 million to hospitals and infectious disease centres to help them battle the Covid-19 pandemic, DFNI-Frontier said.
