An example of provincial teachers working extra hard in the present Covid-19 situation was highlighted by Ban Tok School’s Facebook page today (May 26). The Petchabun teachers have been said to walk four kilometres to deliver working sheets to a student’s house.

The school said its teachers have been undertaking the task to help students who live quite a distance away as schools nationwide have been ordered shut to prevent students, teachers and other staff from contracting Covid-19.

The teachers have had to walk four kilometres as they could not locate the student’s house at first.
The school director told a reporter that there are actually three students who live in the house – Sawanchai Uttha, 10, and his twin brothers aged five. The director also said the boys’ home lacks the required facilities and has no electronic devices.

Yupa Srisompan, their mother, said she and her husband were temporary employees and as their house had no telephone or internet connection, they could not access the online course provided by the government for students nationwide.
