Rainy spell continues in upper Thailand

More rains are forecast for upper Thailand with isolated heavy rains expected in the Northeast, the East and the South regions, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Thursday (May 28).

The monsoon trough moves across upper portions of the North and the upper Northeast while the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and Thailand, the department said.
People in these areas have been urged to beware of the severe conditions.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot, with thundershowers and gusty winds in 30 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees and highs of 36-39 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees and highs of 34-38 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 37-39 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 32-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 33-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and two metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 33-34 degree Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and two metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees, highs of 33-38 degrees Celsius.
