The southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand while the low-pressure area covers upper Vietnam on June 2-3. The department has urged people to beware of the severe conditions.
From June 4-8, the southwest monsoon will strengthen, while the low-pressure cell will cover the upper Bay of Bengal on June 7-8.
More rain with isolated heavy rain is likely in the North, the Central, the East, and the South. Waves in the Andaman Sea are expected to be about two metres high and above two metres during thundershowers.
People have been asked to beware of flash floods. From June 4-8 , all ships in the Andaman Sea should proceed with caution and keep away from thundershowers, the department said.
